Did you know that for every $2 cup of coffee you drink at your favorite coffee shop the farmer that produced your coffee receives an average of $.10? At this rate it is nearly impossible to for farmers to pay out wages that bring their community above the poverty line.

Baechli Family Coffee Farms was founded to ensure fair pay for employees, and to create education opportunities for the children in the community of Suchitepéquez. By eliminating the process of selling our premium beans to large exporters who re-sell to roasters and retailers in the U.S., we are bringing the profit back to the wonderful people of Guatemala who cultivate; harvest; hand-pick and artisan roast your favorite cup.

We also donate a significant portion of our proceeds to ENLACE Guatemala, an organization that is focused on enrolling children in schools and parents involving parents in their education;, two issues that impact our community of employees directly. We believe education is the key to reducing poverty in the generations to come.
